LOVE IS IN THE (H)AIR

Love is in the air – but mainly in the hair! In the spirit of Valentine’s Day we put together how-to’s of our favorite romantic hairstyles that will have you saying “I do”!

VALENTINE’S FLOWER BRAID

WHAT YOU NEED:

Elchim 3900

1¾ Ceramic Brush

Mini Hair Elastics

Bobby Pins

WHAT TO DO:

STEP 1: Prep damp hair with your favorite heat protectant spray. Using the Elchim 3900 Healthy Iconic blow-dry all of your hair (without a brush) until most of the moister is gone.

STEP 2: Pull up the top layers of your hair & clip securely at the top of your head. Starting in the back section of your lowest layer, wind small sections of hair from the ends up to the scalp around a 1 ¾ in. Ceramic Brush and hit them with heat until dry

STEP 3: Unravel hair from the brush, rotating your wrist so the hair curls on itself, forming a loose ringlet. Repeat until all hair is dry

STEP 4: Gently comb through curls to give them a soft & natural look

STEP 5: Section the front sides of hair, pull back into a ponytail and secure (be sure to only grab the sides so the hair at the back of your head is still hanging straight down)

STEP 6: Braid that ponytail, secure with tie

STEP 7: Slightly pull the braids out to make it fluffy in width (the exaggerated edges help create the flower-petal look)

STEP 8: Start at the end of the braid and roll it up towards the top of the braid creating the flower

STEP 9: Secure with bobby pins and finish with a spritz of hairspray

 ELEGANT LOW BUN

(this style is best for second day hair)

WHAT YOU NEED:

Mini Hair Elastics

Bobby Pins

WHAT TO DO:

STEP 1: Section the front sides of hair, pull back into a ponytail and secure – be sure to only grab the sides so the hair at the back of your head is still hanging straight down

STEP 2: Gather all of your hair (including the first ponytail) and secure at the nape of your neck

STEP 3: With the lower/larger ponytail you just created, loop it up, over and into the smaller half pony. As you loop, gentle pull the ends to one side so the pony hangs down. Be sure to guide your hair through slowly to reduce frizz and flyaways

STEP 4: Repeat step 3 to create a second loop so only a few inches of ends left hanging down (if you have shorter hair skip this step)

STEP 5: Working with the loops you’ve created, gently push them up and through to further tighten the bun. Tuck the free ends under the loops to hide them as you tighten. Take your time guiding the hair through to reduce fly-aways

STEP 6: Secure your bun using bobby pins – it’s best to slide your fingers into the loops and secure the lowest loop first

TWISTED HALO

WHAT YOU NEED:

Elchim 3900

1¾ Ceramic Brush

Mini Hair Elastics

WHAT TO DO:

STEP 1: Repeat steps 1 – 4 from Valentine’s Flower Braid tutorial for perfectly undone curls

STEP 2: Section the front sides of your hair on both sides, leaving out a section where your “bangs” would be

STEP 3: Spilt the section into 2 and twist the pieces from root to end creating a rope, make sure you pull your hair back as you’re twisting or you’ll have a bulge in the front. Secure at the end with a large clip to prevent the rope from unraveling and repeat on other side

STEP 4: Bring the two twists together in the back and secure with clear elastic

STEP 5: Gently and evenly pull the twists to loosen, spritz with a little hair spray and your done!
